The Wizard is the first version of our robot for the 2017-2018 Relic Recovery Season. The Wizard is always changing so check this page for updates.
FIRST Tech Challenge, FIRST Res-Q
The Wizard's Drivetrain is constructed from the 2015-2016 FIRST Res-Q game field!
The Wizard was originally an outreach bot we created as a summer project. But, we repurposed it to build this year's robot on.
Glyph Collector and Lift
Collector: Our glyph collector features a continuous intake mechanism. It uses four rev servos that rotate foam wheels. The arms that encase the servos also are spring loaded to conform to all orientations of glyphs. Our mechanism also rotates 180 degrees on a servo so we can utilize both sets of our collector wheels.
Lift: Our glyph lift system features a set of dual linear slides braced together at three points. The slides utilize two winches both connected to a single motor. The two winches allow the slides to move both up and down.
Our jewel mechanism consists of two servos creating pan and tilt motion. This allows us to knock of the jewel without rotating our robot. The servos move a piece of standoff, at the end having a color sensor.
Our relic mechanism is comprised of a linear slide, a arm, a wrist, and a claw. The mechanism has a claw with four points of contact. It is capable of scoring a double relic in matches, both standing in zone three.
