Detroit World Championship - April 2019
Worlds was a fun-filled, amazing event. We had a blast over the five day competition meeting teams from all around the world, getting the opportunity to thank our sponsors at the Innovation Fair, visiting other competitions, and just generally having a good time as a team. We ended the tournament as Think finalists and finished the robot game as quarter-finalists. Congratulations to this year's Inspire Award winner, 8393: The GIANT Diencephalic BrainSTEM Robotics Team!
Maryland States - March 2019
Thank you to Maryland FIRST for putting on a great state tournament. We are so honored to win our first Maryland Inspire Award. Congrats to our friends Mechanical Paradox Cubed and G-Force for 2nd and 3rd place Inspire. They are two teams that have inspired us since our rookie year. Our coach won the Compass Award, and our captain Ishaan was nominated as one of Maryland's Dean’s List Finalists. We were the Division Winning Alliance Captains. Our alliance partners were RoboCavs Gold and Flamangos. It was, all in all, an amazing day!
Virginia States - February 2019
Our second Virginia tournament was a lot of fun. We won 2nd Place Inspire and the Motivate Award. We were also the Division Finalist Alliance Captains. Our partners were Absolute Zero and Xtreme Voltage. Our coach also won the Compass Award. It was great to compete with all of the Virginia teams and we are excited to attend the Detroit World Championships in April!
Delaware Meet #2 - January 2019
We were undefeated at our second Delaware meet. This event was another great opportunity to meet with teams and practice driving. It was also good to have a competition to test out our robot and find failures, as there is a huge gap between our Maryland qualifier and our next competition, Virginia States.
Greater DC Area Qualifier - December 2018
It's always fun to compete in Maryland. This was the first qualifier that our whole team was able to attend. We hosted a help desk in our pit throughout the day to help other teams out with programming and lend out parts/tools. We won 3 out of 5 of our qualification matches, and were chosen by the first seed the Enginerds to join their alliance along with Some Disassembly Required. In the end, we were the first pick of the Winning Alliance! We also won the Think Award and the Control Award. We were nominated for Connect, Innovate, Motivate, and Design. We're looking forward to Maryland States!
Delaware Meet #1 - December 2018
This was our first Delaware meet, which 5 of our 10 team members attended. We made substantial relationships with 3 teams and were able to help them think about scouting and judging for their upcoming tournaments. We also noted problems with our robot. It was good to find these problems in a less stressful, non-competitive environment, before our Maryland qualifier this Sunday. It was also a great opportunity for our drivers to practice driving and us to test out our scouting app. In the end, we were undefeated and we averaged 175 points alone. Overall, the event was a lot of fun and it was amazing to form relationships with Delaware teams and volunteers.
Virginia Orange Qualifier - November 2018
This qualifier was a great experience for us! We won the Inspire Award, and we were also the first pick of the finalist alliance. One of the most impactful parts of this event was our Help Desk, through which we were able to help teams get autonomous programs up and running and lend out parts. We also had a couple of team members step out of their comfort zones and sing the national anthem. Furthermore, it was the first competition for our rookie team members, so it was great for them to see everything live in action. We really came together as a unit, which was amazing and it was also really fun to compete in Virginia for the first time!
